Goal achieved
Historical integrity in harmony with modern day living
The renovation of this historic Houghton home reimagined the residence for contemporary living while preserving the architectural integrity and character of the original structure.
The generous proportions inherent to period homes allowed for a sensitive reworking of flow, natural light, ventilation and spatial connectivity. These elements were carefully enhanced to support wellbeing and a closer relationship with nature, creating interiors that feel calm, balanced and attuned to daily life. The design prioritises fresh air, daylight and ease of movement, reinforcing a serene and balanced atmosphere without compromising the home’s heritage.

Close collaboration with all parties ensured the client’s brief was realised with clarity and restraint. The result is an environment that feels both comfortable and refined, where modern interventions sit quietly within the existing architectural language, maintaining a respectful dialogue with the past.

French antiques and an eclectic art collection are thoughtfully layered alongside contemporary bespoke furniture acquired over time.
This considered juxtaposition brings warmth and depth to the interior, resulting in a lived-in family home that honours its history while supporting modern patterns of living.
