Goal achieved
Outdoors is an integral extension of indoors
This home is a considered balance of classic and contemporary, where contrasting elements are brought together with clarity and restraint. French antiques sit comfortably alongside iconic pieces of contemporary furniture, while a diverse art collection adds depth, character and personal meaning. Art is integral to the experience of the home, contributing to atmosphere and emotional resonance without overwhelming the space.
The brief was to create a calm and serene environment, shaped by an understanding of how space, light and outlook influence wellbeing. Views to the garden were prioritised from every room, ensuring a continuous visual connection to nature and a strong sense of openness and ease. The outdoor space was designed as a natural extension of the interior, intended for everyday use rather than occasional enjoyment.

Colour and material choices were guided by principles of visual comfort and sensory balance. Tonal relationships were carefully controlled to support calm and reduce visual fatigue, while natural and tactile materials introduce warmth and grounding. Together, these elements create a cohesive and restful interior environment.

The garden was fully landscaped to function as a lived-in space that supports both physical and emotional wellbeing. In addition to visual connection, the design encourages direct engagement through touch, movement, and scent.
Planting, surfaces, and outdoor rooms invite daily use, allowing occupants to experience seasonal change and sensory variation as part of everyday life.
The result is a family home where comfort and refinement exist in balance, shaped by a close relationship between architecture, art, and a deeply inhabited landscape.
