Goal achieved

Respect the brand

This project was shaped by the understanding that the built environment has a measurable impact on human behaviour, performance and wellbeing. Drawing on neuroscience and research-driven design principles, the brief was to create a professional, sophisticated head office that actively supports staff wellbeing, trust, loyalty and productivity. The space was designed as the African headquarters for a large multinational corporation establishing its presence in Sandton, with a clear mandate to accurately reflect its global brand and values.

The architectural approach focused on clarity, legibility and calm. A contemporary entrance sequence establishes confidence and credibility on arrival, using a restrained palette of layered greys and lighting to create a timeless yet progressive aesthetic.

The 750 square metre office accommodates thirty executives, three formal meeting rooms with fully integrated IT and communications infrastructure and a central administrative hub. Spatial zoning, acoustic control, lighting design and quality and intuitive circulation were carefully considered to support focus, collaboration and cognitive ease throughout the working day.

As the organisation expanded, our team managed the full relocation into the larger premises. All existing furniture and fittings were assessed through a functional and environmental lens, then repurposed and reused. This approach preserved familiarity for staff, reduced disruption during transition and delivered significant cost efficiencies while maintaining continuity of brand identity.

Design decisions were guided by circular economy principles and evidence-based sustainability strategies. Reuse, repair and recycling were prioritised, resulting in minimal waste and reinforcing the client’s commitment to responsible global practice.

The completed workplace is a high-performance environment that aligns architectural intelligence with human needs, supporting both organisational growth and the people at its core.
